New Macbook times

I finally got a new laptop! A glorious glorious new laptop! It goes to fast, you guys. So anyways I just doodled out a few things while getting myself acquainted with the new setup.

The Lovegoods

She lives!! I've been crazy-busy lately. Precisely zero time for personal stuffs. But I unearthed this old picture the other day. It's Luna and Xenophelius Lovegood attending Bill and Fleur's wedding in robes of dazzling buttercup yellow!  One of my fave scenes from the Harry Potter books. Anyways, thought it would be a good fill-in until I have time to make more fun stuff.

 I've been watching Ripper Street and audio-booking the Harry Potter books and the two got combined in my head into a Harry Potter Auror Steampunk Crime-Solving Adventure. I regret nothing!

August Bloghust

 

I've definitely argued with more than one person about how Los Angeles is the best city on earth. And I stand by everything I've said! But sometime around August each year I get pretty burnt out on it. I mean warm, dry, and sunny? EVERY DAY?!? Gimme a light drizzle or something. Anyways, pretty soon I'll be off to visit San Francisco and Seattle, and I can drink my fill of other types of weather. In the meantime I'll wear seasonally inappropriate flannels and shun the glorious out-of-doors.

All my single ladies

I really like the Joan of Arc story. Cuz either she was a delusional 19 year old who happened to be great at warfare, or she was an actual magical teenager. Either way she lead a nation of defeated men out of failure with the power of believing in FRANCE.  Good job, Joan.

And this is another concept I had for that SciFi idea I've been bouncing around. Like maybe over the course of the story these ladies grow up alot and become badasses? And then all their dyed hair grows out, obviously.

Getaway

So I've had this idea banging around for a while. It's set in the future and involves high-flying extra-terrestrial adventures and an all-girl crew.  Because action-oriented multi-racial girl characters are underrepresented in children's literature, by golly!

The Nappening

The problem with having a couple days off of work is that you get used to these glorious afternoon naps. And then work starts back up again and no afternoon nap seems like the cruelest hardship!

Our Lady Mother of Dragons

Her holiness the Khaleesi Daenerys Targaryen patron saint of kicking ass and taking names. And she's all out of names, by golly!

Oh man, getting to the end of Game of Thrones season 3. And that's about as far as I've read in the books so I'm worried there will be terrible surprises. Of the sort where everybody you love dies (I still haven't gotten over Ned Stark.) And who the hell is this mercenary guy who's pledged his warriors to the Khaleesi? Daario? He's skeezy, I don't trust him. And we all know that Sir Jorah loves her the most! Except that he's old enough to be her grandpaps, but whatever.  Dashing accent trumps all.

Procrastinating

I was watching The Hobbit the other night and doodling elves. And I thought it was a damn shame that the elven species is relegated to boring old Mirkwood so I made a tropical elf! And then I colored it with my old Intuos instead of my Cintiq because I haven't used it in aaaages. But oh my GOD how did I ever use this thing!? Its like trying to draw with your left hand. I can't wait until Wacom comes out with a Cintiq that isn't such a beast to carry around and set up though. You hear me Wacom? The world is waiting on this technology!

Home Alone

Work has been wicked slow lately, so I've been watching every iteration of Sherlock Holmes I can find on the internet.  Probably I should leave the house.

I was complaining to Liana that I've been feeling uninspired lately and she said "Well you can always draw ME!" So here's Liana, in the bright gold lurex hot pants she bought the day before leaving to Hong Kong.  I was not emotionally or physically prepared for so gilded a crotch.

Me and the roommates are moving into a new place! There will be porch. There shall be coffee and toast in the mornings on this porch. This I swear!

I have become a jelly

Blefhghghrhghgh, I don't know what it is but lately I've been completely exhausted for no reason. Maybe I'm fighting a bit of that sick that's been going around. Or possibly it's to do with cracking my tailbone a few months ago. I haven't been able to sit right for ages! That nonsense is tiring. Ah well, finally going to the doctor's on Wednesday. It will be a new day! And a new butt.
